Ed – Managing Director
A gamekeepers son that had worked at a leading shooting school formed Evergreen Rabbit control back in 2000, the idea was born after realising there was demand for a such a skill set as no other company provided an effective or versatile service to control rabbits. Ed has been a full time and highly qualified rabbit controller ever since, running much of the day to day work and can be found out most days (and nights) of the week managing wildlife.
He has worked successfully with a team in most counties across the UK and further to control and eradicate rabbits from areas as well as working over a huge acreage each year including islands. Ed organised the Isle of Canna rabbit cull in 2014 and proud to see the restoration of the island now the numbers are under control . Ed has worked effectively with every method of control and especially enjoys working alongside the dogs, birds of prey and ferrets .
In his spare time he likes explore the sea either diving off the Dorset coast in day or night and travelling around the Scottish islands. Ed can also be found writing for various magazines and has featured in various videos as well as been the subject of TV programmes.
Craig – Scotland Manager
Craig first met Evergreen when a class of students from the gamekeeping course at Sparsholt college joined us for the day to learn about rabbit control and wildlife management . Over the years Craig worked in various roles including gamekeeping and then started working with Ed. Mainly based in the south for some years as a rabbit controller and became an important member of the team within the Canna rabbit cull. Craig later moved to the island and now manages the population (26,000 rabbits later) as well as looking after much of the work across Scotland and the islands .
A practical sort of a chap that is naturally gifted with training and working with animals of all sorts of shapes and sizes . Your likely to see him working alongside his working collie cross Fenn; an inseparable duo . He is also licensed to use a variety of firearms and experienced with each method of control . In his spare time he enjoys his fishing with a spear gun and freediving in the crystal clear waters of the Hebrides.
George – Operations Manager
George brings with him a vast amount of knowledge, experience, and expertise. He has a 1st class BSc (hon) in animal science.
Having worked on eradication and conservation projects across the globe, George has also taught practical pest control as a lecturer.
A keen and experienced animal handler, George is also a passionate falconer.
George’s main duties are organising and managing projects across the UK , you are likely to see him ferreting and shooting as well as in the office figuring logistical stuff !
Charlotte – Office Manager
Charlotte is the office manager and deals with general admin, enquiries and assisting with jobs.
Charlotte is currently training some of the teams dog for conservation detection work.
Charlotte grew up on a farm and enjoys beating and picking up with her dogs.

Riot – Chief Rabbit detection dog – Canine Team
If she cant find it, it isn’t there! Riot is a collie cross trained to detect rabbits no matter where they hide. Being a bit of a pro you will see her on most jobs as she indicates rabbits in a variety of habitats and has the agility to work in most locations.
Ren – Canine Team
Ren is a daughter of Riot, mum to Rip and sister to Roach. Ren is a collie cross lurcher. Ren is a professional at finding rabbits, if Ren isn’t marking a warren there isn’t a rabbit there. Ren is a soft natured and hard working dog.
Fenn – Canine Team (Scotland)
A true wonder to watch in the field, Fenn is a gifted collie cross bred from a Hebridean collie and Mist. She excels at finding rabbits no matter where they hide as well as live rabbit retrieval day and night . A lovely well mannered dog with a strong loyalty to Craig.
Tic – Canine Team
Tic is a jack russell cross terrier related to our much missed bitch Flea who sadly died from cancer. A typical terrier Tic is a determined character and if there is a pest about, Tic will let you know. Tic loves a belly rub and finding pests.
Roach – Canine Team
Roach is a daughter of Riot, aunt to Rip and sister to Ren. Roach is a collie cross lurcher and will be found loyally following George around the country on jobs. She has a nose for rabbits and is a valuable member of the team.
Sonic – Canine Team
Sonic is a deerhound cross. Deerhounds are a loyal hunting dog, often associated with nobility. Although a bit gangly, Sonic has a regal appearance and lovely temperament. You will hear sonic thundering along before you see her.
Pigeon – Canine Team
Pigeon is a Jagd Terrier. A working type terrier originating from Germany, Jagd terriers are a highly intelligent and tenacious breed. Pigeon is a character, loyal to her favourite people, she will be found on jobs working enthusiastically.
Rae – Canine Team
Rae is a patterdale cross jack Russel. Rae can be found with Charlotte and her bestie Bimba, assisting on jobs up and down the country. Rae is a typical terrier and loves to work. She is learning from Tic and loves being part of the terrier team.
Rip – Canine Team
Rip is a lurcher cross bearded collie. Rip is Ren’s daughter and niece to Roach. Rip is in training and will be seen out learning the ropes. Fluffy and full of character, Rip is going to be a fun addition to the team.
Bimba – Canine Team
Bimba is a Podenco Maneto, imported from Spain. Podenco’s are hound like in their hunting style and are generally worked in packs to find and flush rabbits to a gun. Bimba has an brilliant nose for scent and will follow a scent to find her quarry. Although her little legs may not quite keep up, she is a brilliant little flushing dog.
Bracken – Aerial Team
One of the originals…. Over 20 years old and she is still catching rabbits. Bracken a female Harris Hawk came to us as an ex display bird needing a more fulfilling job! She soon joined us ferreting and has proved very effective, especially in the woodland scenario, where “eyes like a hawk” above definitely see more than we can. She is also trained to fly at night on the lamp and is often relied upon where firearms are not safe. She lives a healthy life style with lots of exercise as well as mixed diet that may include one or two self sourced rabbits!
Kerris – Ariel Team
Kerris is a goshawk and she is 4 years old. Kerris is excellent at rabbit and hare control.
The Ferrets – Underground Team
Steve, Harry , Archie, Barney and Rodney are just some of the ferret team that do such an amazing job for us at Evergreen. Whilst they do smell like a ferret they all provide an amazing service of clearing rabbit warrens of occupants regardless of complexity. These much underestimated creatures love hunting rabbits of which they do so effectively but are also happy chilling in there hammocks after a meal of bunny.
