Dropbox rabbit traps are a type of multiple live catch trap that work in conjunction with rabbit proof fencing.
These traps allow rabbits free passage through the fence line via a tunnel system over a buried holding cellar. As soon as a volume of rabbits become accustomed to using the tunnel system, the door system can be set. Once the trap door system is set the traps will catch as many rabbits that pass through overnight. From as few as one to as many as fifty per night.

When rabbits are visiting from neighbouring land or from an area that is difficult to control via other means, they prevail where other methods may not. This problem is magnified if the fence isn’t erected to the correct standards. Fencing alone will only delay this problem, more measures are needed to solve it. Dropboxes resolve this issue and take pressure off the fencing by removing a very high percentage of the local population of rabbits.
